In flashes of sun-streaked pain.
Her eyes look heavenward
Searching for His voice,
There it is … again!
She gasps and gags, reaching for His hand
But she cannot feel His grasp.
Her pain-filled lungs cry out to Him
As her breath becomes her last.
She shades her eyes from the orange light
So beautiful, vibrant and pure.
Alone she stands – between two worlds,
The decision to make is sure.
“Come, my sister, come with Me,
To the marriage feast of the Lamb!”
Faster and faster she flies through the air,
In the orange encircling tomb.
Closer and closer, she stretches her hand,
As He reaches and welcomes her home.
The wonder, the joy, the beauty she sees,
How could she deserve such as these?
“It’s for you I died, my sister, my bride,
My grace meets all of your needs.”
She falls to the ground caressing His feet
As He stands in robe of white.
“Come now, my sister, my precious bride,
You are My delight!"
He takes her hand and leads her on
Into fields of orange and white.
She hears His voice as He speaks her name
With love – pure as light.
