Topic: Orange (the color) (11/19/09)
I looked up at the tall tree that stood in front of me. I noticed that this tree had one leaf. I wondered, why does the tree only have one leaf? The one leaf that was left was of a beautiful orange color. I was amazed that this beautiful orange leaf was still clinging on to its source of life, even when all the other leaves have fallen to their demise.

This beautiful orange leaf seemed to have a reason for its determination to survive. I began to gain an inner strength as I looked upon this beautiful orange leaf that was surrounded by nothing but empty tree branches. I thought about how empty I felt at times in my life when I had no one to gain strength from. The loneliness at times seemed unbearable.

Now, I look at this beautiful orange leaf, that is determined to survive in spite of its empty surroundings, I gain inner strength from this beautiful orange leaf. Perhaps, it is the beautiful orange color that sustains this leaf, and gives it a reason for living.

Today, I have a beautiful orange leaf inside of me. Which is a determination to survive; even when my surroundings are like empty tree branches, I have a will to survive against all odds. This beautiful orange leaf has shown me my inner strength. I thank God for this beautiful orange leaf.

Wonderful thoughts! I like finding things in nature that teach more about God and how I can be a better person.

A nice parallel of nature vs "nature". Softly written and super observation. Good writing and enjoyable read. This could work up into a nice devotional. Blessings!

Hi Sondra. You had some great thoughts here. Please know that I read them about 12 hours after I submitted my entry to this week's challenge "brown" about whether you are a green leaf or a dead leaf so I'm not stealing your thoughts. Had I read your post before, I would not have even written mine so that you or anyone else would think I'm trying to copy you. Guess the Lord is into leaves this month.

Anyway, again, great thoughts!
