It’s a time when you're carted around in a vehicle that someone else is paying for, keeps insured and fills the tank with gasoline, but you can’t wait until you’re free to go anywhere you want anytime you want to go.
It’s a time like no other when you can enjoy playing in those magical carefree twilight hours of a warm summer evening without worrrying about whether you have something cleaned and pressed for work tomorrow, but you can’t wait until you can earn your own money and spend it any way you want to.
It’s a time when you have a warm dry place to sleep every night, and laying your head down at bedtime, you don’t have to worry about whether the bills will be paid so you’ll have that warm place to sleep tomorrow night, but you can’t wait until you can stay up as late as you want and not have a stupid bedtime.
Childhood is a time filled with discontent. No matter what your situation it’s very likely that you hate it. There are way too many bosses, far too many rules, and you can’t wait to grow up and be free!
Childhood is wasted on the young.
