Not like the winters I know.
Those cold temperatures gave me a tough skin while growing up in Minnesota.
In winter in Minnesota we walk on lakes (ice).
In southern Illinois you will need a swim suit, doctor and a prayer.
In Minnesota we skate outdoors in the cold.
In southern Illinois I recommend a pair of roller blades because there is no ice.
In Minnesota you can make a snowman.
In Southern Illinois the closest you get to a snowman is a drawing.
In Minnesota we go to school when it is minus 20 (below zero).
In southern Illinois they cancel school when it is plus 20 (above zero).
In Minnesota people start their car to warm up their engine.
In southern Illinois they start their car to warm up the cab.
In Minnesota we play high school hockey.
In Illinois kids can only dream about high school hockey.
In Minnesota we like to slide down hill on our sleds.
In southern Illinois people ask, "Where's the hills." (there is none)
In Minnesota we take snow for granted.
In southern Illinois they storm the grocery store, because people are afraid they will get stranded in their homes.
That is what happens when you have a wimpy winter.
