Pointing and laughing at me, as everyone one runs away.
Christmas wishes never came, no looking for a Easter bunny,
Cause we knew mom and step-dad had blew all the money.
Hiding in closet, and sleeping in parks until mom came home from work.
Knowing that every time mom’s gone they would try to get in my skirt.
I still dream about the fights that mom and step-dad had.
Mom loved and stayed so there’s no reason for being mad.
Never bringing anyone home because I was so disgraced.
Mom was high again and you can see it on her face.
The lights are off, there is no food, and roaches running on the floor.
Has me praying asking God to help me, for I can’t take much more.
The pain of, “HIDE GO GET IT” was still having it’s effects
It took God grace to remove that yoke from off my neck.
When I was a child I acted and spoke just like one
When I became grown my childishness still wasn’t done
Lives lesson I didn’t see until I was over thirty
And still I am learning what it takes to be me.
But now that I look back I can see that all things worked out for the good.
I didn’t see how God formed my clay, nor did I know what He understood.
It’s thru the tribulations, and all the heartaches, and pains,
That shows us how to endure until the victory is gained.
And if I had to do it again this same road I would of took,
Cause God loves me and I’m written in the eternal life book.
