As you rush through the day, do you give thought to it's finished end result? Do you contemplate whether God’s will has been done or your own? Do you find solace in knowing that he is with you throughout the days events?
It is important as you face each new day to think upon God. To begin the day with retreat of heart and mind, to set aside a time for repose thinking upon God and his ways. The Psalms in the Bible reflect the heart of man with God.
The definition of retreat is withdrawal; safe or secluded place.
I could not think of a better withdrawal from the world's affairs and the troubles of our hearts, than with the God of all Grace and Mercy. Here you can find a safe haven of rest for your soul and mind. Be in a secluded place of comfort, alone in fellowship with your Maker. Mindful, that the very hairs of your head are numbered by him, for he fashioned you. What a comfort to go to God, who knows you so well.
Be still and know that I am God… Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
Be still…. Alone, quiet. The God of Heaven hears your plea, your prayer and desires of your heart. Seek his will for the day and rest in his promises. Be obedient to the open and closed doors. See his ways before you and rejoice, knowing you have accomplished his will for the day.
Even in sorrow, conflicts and distress you can rest in his perfect ways. God sees the future, he performs that which is pleasing and accomplishes his work in you. Let him use your day. Let it be for his honor and glory and rejoice in the fruit to come.
Rest in this and your retreat of being still, knowing God. You will truly find that safe, secluded place right there in your own heart.
