As I started thinking back about my own life, I realized that there have certainly been many times that I would call “bitter”. Mostly these would be times when I didn’t get my own way, times when I was trying to do things in my own power, times when people didn’t live up to my expectations of them, but mostly, I realised these were the times before I knew Christ. Yes there were “sweet” times too, but if I’m honest, I would have to say there were more “bitter” times and the reason – my attitude toward life was mostly “bitter”.
Amazingly, that all changed in 1989 when I came to know Christ as my Saviour. Suddenly, I was able to look at the “bitter” times through new eyes. They became times of personal growth, times when the Lord would show His almighty grace and power, times when I got to practice my faith. Christ came and renewed my mind, from mostly “bitter” to mostly “sweet” and today I wouldn’t want to be without the “bitter” times because bitter truly is sweet. And you guessed it! The “sweet” times are now more abundant that the “bitter” times.
As a child of Christ, you don’t have to fear the “bitter” times, because they truly can be "sweet"!

Just my own personal preference though, after the first few times, I got tired of the quotation marks around the topic words. Otheriwse, good job!
