DO YOU HAVE NEEDS?

Because of changing lifestyles and the society we live in, we no longer have kings as Rulers in our midst.

In the earlier civilizations and during the writing of the Bible, the King ruled with absolute power, everything belonged to the King, his word was law, and you died or lived because of the King’s word, every thing revolved around the King. So to appear before the King, was very important, after seeing the King face to face and talked to him life was never the same again. The King bestowed favors.

Joseph in the bible was just a seventeen year old boy who was sold as a slave, he spent a few years as Potiphar’s servant, and then Potiphar’s wife made advances to him but he refused to lie with her. He was jailed unfairly because of a lie.

At 30 years Joseph was called from prison and stood before the King (Pharaoh). After interpreting the King’s dream, he instantly became the Prime Minister, the second in command. The bible records that he lived to be 110 years which means he enjoyed 80 years of leadership and prosperity. Why? Because he found favour in the eyes of the King. Similarly another young man called Daniel served in King Nebuchadnezzar’s palace. Daniel was a foreigner.

One night the King dreamt and he forgot his dream, when he woke up he demanded that the magicians and the soothsayers to tell him his dream and interpret it.
They could not and some were killed. Daniel appeared before another mightier and great King, the King of kings and Lord of Lords and the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision.They took him before King Nebuchadnezzar and he interpreted the dream, I want to quote what happened to Daniel after that in Dan 2: 46&48 (KJV)

“Then king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face and worshipped Daniel and commanded that they should offer an ablation and sweet odours unto him.”

“Then the King made Daniel a great man and gave him many great gifts, and made him the ruler over the whole province of Babylon and chief of the Governors over all the wise men of Babylon.”

Do you see a pattern in that after appearing before the king you get promoted and favors come your way?

Queen Esther appeared before the King and found favor in his sight; she was able to save a whole nation. Nehemiah also went before the King to make a request and was granted to go back to his homeland to build a wall. He ended up being made governor of that land.

It will not be complete if we don’t see the other side of the coin. What happened to those people who refuse to appear before the King?

In the book of Esther, there was another Queen before Queen Esther, who was called Vashti. The King made a feast to honour his nobles and princes. He commanded her to be brought before him with the royal crown to show the people and princess her beauty for she was fair to look upon.But Vashti refused to heed the Kings commandment, she was demoted and her royal estate was given to another who was better than her. It was decreed that she will never appear before the King.

There is another guy called Joab, He was David’s Army commander. When David died and Solomon his son took over, Joab made a blunder by not supporting Solomon.
When he realized his mistake he ran and got hold of the horns of the altar. Solomon sent someone to go and call him to appear before him but he refused and chose to die, therefore they killed him there.

Hey! Did you know that a note has come from the King that you appear before Him?
The bible says in Heb 4: 16 “ Let us therefore come boldly before the throne of grace (favor) that we may obtain mercy and find grace ( Favor) to help in time of need.
Do you have needs? Everyone who has needs has a command to appear before the King of Kings.

Your after will very much be influenced by to whom you appear before.
