"Wherever you are is where I want to be. Where are we going?"
"You'll find out. We'll go by the Pearlush gardens on the way. I have a treat for you."
He grabs my hand, and we fly, while I vaguely recall more difficult journeys.
He reads my thoughts and squeezes my hand, even as we swirl though the bright sky. He whistles for Chirp, my favorite bird. Chirp flutters next to me, whistling the song for which he was created to sing. The soothing warmth of the day envelops me once again. My heart overflows with contentment.
"Here we are! Let's gather some fruit for our trip. What do you think of the taste?"
"Deliciously satisfying."
"I planted them for you."
My head shakes in astonishment at the foresight of my friend, "How can I ever repay you?"
"It's already been paid. You being near me is what I want. Come on now. I want to show you something."
"Wherever you are is where I want to be. I'll follow you."
During the flight, again my mind travels to past days. What if I had chosen another path? I was so wretchedly lost in my own way, and I almost missed him. What if he had not found me? Memories float by as if through a glass dimly.
"Master, can I ask you a favor?"
"Ask me anything."
"Will you take me to the Middle West gate?"
He already knew. He had not forgotten even though my remembrance was blurred.
This time we run through fields and woods, down canyons and valleys, and up hills and mountains crossing a vast expanse of land; his rough hand holds onto mine.
She is there, beaming with her arms outstretched. We embrace for what seems like eternity.
"You told me about this place. I am forever grateful."
"All I wanted is for you to meet me at the Middle West gate at the 10,000th year. He is the one we should thank."
We turn and look at him, as we sink to our knees in gratitude. Chirp tweets his approval while the Savior smiles.
He grasps us both and says, "Let's go ride a comet to celebrate!"
