Before I knew, He knew.
Before I died, He died.
Before I lived, He lived.
Before He called me ‘child of mine’.
I knew not who I was.
Until I heard Him in my ‘ear’.
And saw His Glory shine.
Before He found me I was lost.
He chose to pursue me
with kindness and with patience long,
His Voice I heard at last.
Before I knew His Name,
I sounded out to none,
For such as was my ignorance,
But now I know His Fame.
Before He healed my sin sick heart,
I had such savage pains,
His perfect blood He shed for me
For in His death He took my part.
Before I loved Him as my Lord,
His Father sent Him down to earth,
To rescue Adam’s fallen race,
For such as I, His mercy poured.
After Christ came and lived with us,
He went away beyond the clouds.
The ‘Comforter’ in flamed tongues,
Now Tabernacled in spirit house.
After Christ died, His Truths were penned
In long epistles manifold.
Such love, such joy, such promises
Are ours and without end.
After parading His foes to all
He gave many gifts to men.
God’s plan - perfect - equip the saints
And mold us into His Image, said Paul.
After His Heart I do pursue,
To please my Father only,
To seek HIM face to face each day
with intimacy true.
After He comes to earth again,
We’ll rule and reign with Him.
His Kingdom come. His will be done.
Then, no more death or pain....
