He was the prince of a kingdom that knew no bounds; a kingdom established in a place beyond the firmaments. He had much glory and splendor and his rule was incontestable. In him was no blemish and he was the only begotten of the king of kings. His father the king had been before anyone else and will continue to be forevermore.
On the Sea of Creation there came a raging tempest, a heavy storm that imperiled all. The solution was known but the approach difficult. A quintessential sacrifice will suffice but the sacrificial lamb was to be taken from the king’s bosom. None of the king’s servants could volunteer because they had no blood lineage with the king. The situation was baffling nevertheless, the king had to shun sentiments and resentments; he did not give a hoot about the vacuum his decision will create in his kingdom; his precious son was to go down and calm the Sea of Creation. The son was to choose, albeit the king had made up his mind.
Having thought it through, he beckoned his son into his inner chamber a place solely for the king. He explained the situation to his son and told him a short story about a kingdom called ‘Sea of Creation’. “It is a world beneath us and it is my foot stool” the king’s voice muttered. “I created them in my image and after my likeness just to bring me pleasure” the mighty king continued. “Until the tempter’s power they could not foil and their lusts they could not curb; it has been a while, my heart longs for them but only a sacrifice will bridge the gap between me and my creation” the king said bowing his head in grief and anticipation. “Father, I will go for us if it is your will” the son replied, knowing it even before the father mentioned it. They shared the same thoughts, there is no competition amongst them and they have always been one. Immediately the king saw the willingness on the face of his son he reached out his hands to embrace him and said; “my precious lamb without blemish, this day you have chosen to save a world about to perish”.
Horns, shofars and trumpets sounded across the whole kingdom as the king summoned all the elders and the host of his kingdom to a banquet to commensurate his son’s decision. It was in this banquet the king made known to the twenty four elders and the host of his kingdom his son’s decision to redeem the Sea of Creation back to him. The great hall of renown was filled with awe and all attendees trembled and marveled as they watched the only begotten of the king step down from glory to the world beneath. Suddenly there was an outburst of joy from every heart including the father’s when all saw the gift of love numbered amidst the inhabitants of the Sea of Creation and they all beheld his glory as of the only begotten of the King full of grace and truth. It was an indelible day in the king’s kingdom.
The son suffered so many things on his way to fulfilling the father’s desire. He was rejected, persecuted and spitefully treated by the inhabitants of the Sea of Creation. He spoke about the father’s desire to them, teaching them that his father has been waiting earnestly for a time to reconcile them back to Him. In patience he spoke to them and in love he corrected them but they did not yield instead, they treated him as one of their notorious criminals making to die a shameful death by hanging him on the tree.
The son’s death was the perfect procreation of the father’s thought. By his death the son made an open show of principalities and powers. He broke down the bars of iron and the gates of brass hindering the creator from reaching out to the Sea of Creation. The father in his awesomeness and lofty grandeur raised his son from death, resurrecting him from the icy hands of death. And he lifted him back to glory, making him to sit at his right hand.
The father made him the mediator of the new covenant, one who would touch the Sea of Creation and at the same time touch the creator. So that before him there was none and after him there will be none.
