Don’t stray from them like other fools.
To be a good kid in your schools
Is what our God desires.
Your teenage years are hard enough,
With homework, sports, and other stuff,
To stay focused on God is very tough,
It’s what our God admires.
If you decide to go your way
And live life only for today
Not caring, letting come-what-may,
Without God, you will tire.
When troubles come
Wisdom you’ve shunned
Will from you run,
And you’ll succumb
To Satan’s schemes,
Who loves your screams
Of desperate, dying, teenage dreams.
Just one decision made in haste,
Derails your plans; your life in waste.
Oh, that you would always seek His face,
And let Him in His rightful place.
Accept His forgiveness and His grace.
And let God hold you higher.
Then others will look up to you
And want to know what they can do
To know the God that carries you through;
The God of your desires.
And you can share with them His love,
Not to look around, but look above,
To the One whose spirit’s like a dove,
The God that you admire.
A life with meaning can be had,
Filled with good, not marred with bad,
Start young, and forever be glad:
God’s love will never tire.
