I know that it’s true for I have lived it so well.
While climbing the silo, a motor to fix.
Sixty feet high, my conscious played tricks.
Its weight was 200, in pounds of hard steel.
I needed it in, the door with the seal.
Then the old one goes out and back to the ground.
And how it really got there, the answers not found.
All I can say is that God showed His face.
And on that very day, extended me grace.
He took me in to His hands with such care.
And brought me out of danger, my life He would spare.
The cows that we milked would need babies, you see.
For that was the way that their milk would flow free.
It was our regular method, to impregnate artificially.
So it was in and out with a glove: those swimmers of glee.
This didn’t always take, and a bull would be used.
But if they weren’t in heat, he wasn’t amused.
It was only a second that I turned my back.
I was shoved through the gate, with no power to lack.
All I can say is that God showed His face.
And on that very day, extended me grace.
One moment I was in, the very dangerous yard.
And the next moment out; mostly unscarred.
A daughter I have who was young at the time.
Got her hand in the fan, which was so full of grime.
She pulled it out quickly, but not soon enough.
Six surgical hours later, her fingers looked rough.
All I can say is that God showed His face.
And on that very day, extended us grace.
He came into our lives at the call of His name.
And will never move out, for this is His fame.
