Harry had black hair was heavyset and also in his 50's. He got this look of fear on his face,” Sorry, I forgot."
Gladis eyes became crossed as she started to shout. "You never do anything right. Why can't you remember anything? Now our bills are going to be late because you forgot the stamps."
Proverbs fifteen one says, "A soft answer turned away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger."
Gladis was very hard on Harry, but she should have been soft and more understanding. The following is how Gladis should have handled the situation.
"Harry, did you get stamps on the way home?"
"Sorry, I forgot."
"We need to get our bills in the mail could you pick up stamps tomorrow morning and mail our bills?
That was a better response from Gladis. It is not always easy to respond in a Christ like way. In the first response Gladis let her anger get the best of her. We can all learn from Gladis and give a soft answer instead of a hard time.
