Luke 15:20 (NIV)
So he got up and went to his father.
But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
I look up into the heavens believing you are there. I stare at each star with my heart beating faster every minute; wondering if you are smiling at me.
Then, my adversary comes to taunt me; to remind me of the up and down life I have lived for so long. He takes me to the times my hands were inside the cookie jar of life, loosing innocence and gaining wickedness. Once again, he reminds me of those moments of which are shameful to share.
He laughs at me, knowing that I started to loose sight of what is in front of me. I stop and think, “why me? Why did I loose so much time away from my Father?”
My adversary laughs again! With a grin he says to himself, “I am winning the battle, I got him!”
My eyes are down looking at my feet. “This road again, this adversary has no mercy towards me.” It feels like the walls are closing in on me….
As I start to reflect on how my life has been going up and down, a soft, gentle voice talks to my heart: "Son, I am still holding you".
“Can it be that my Father hasn’t let go of me!”
I feel His warmth, I feel His strength. I feel the renewal inside of me. I realize He is not only in heaven; He is in front of me.
As I lift my shield of faith, I turn to my adversary and remind him, “You have lost the war!”
