As I watch others live their perfect lives in the church I list my shortcomings and they fill rooms and rooms like a huge library. What is it that is so different between them and me?
It occurred to me that we are the same. They too have their secret fears and ‘play church’ as much as I. We are in this game together until that fateful day the guest speaker told us about how we were wrong in the way we lived.
We were looking hard at the ‘thou shall not’s’ and ignoring the work of Christ. Our guest speaker told us that if we stopped looking at the things we weren’t supposed to do and instead focus on God through Christ then we would not have a desire to do the things that we shouldn’t. For it is the focus on self that creates temptation. James 1:14
