Topic: The USA (01/08/09)
Often the things that should mean the most to us are taken for granted. The old saying "You don't know what you've got till you lose it"has a lot of truth.
Those of us blessed by being born here in The USA may not appreciate that
Citizenship.Sometimes it takes a National Crisis like 911 or a war to open our eyes.
Does the sight of Old Glory waving in the wind bring a lump to your throat?
Maybe we all need to study our own history,take a refresher course to
discover how unique our country is.
The words written in The Declaration Of
Independence are not just faded script
on yellowing parchment.They still speak
volumes on the miracles of our freedom.
Our Constitution is copied,which is the
highest form of flattery;but it never
truly can be duplicated.
Have you heard words of sadness due to the decline of our Nation,it's influence around the world,it's moral decay? Can we bring back our integrity
and righteousness?
With frustration it's said that "If our founding fathers could see us now,
they would roll over in their graves!"
It's easy to excuse ourselves,thinking
what can one person do? One plus God is
a majority! There is one never failing remedy...PRAYER. With prayer The USA can
be brought back to our solid foundation
as One Nation UNDER GOD,Indivisible,
With Freedom and Justice for all.

Great exhortation!

You might want to take a look at your formatting--use the "preview" button, and then fix the lines and paragraphs before the final "submit" button is pushed.

I liked the tone of this little patriotic essay.

Yes, format seems to be a problem, but, who of us doesn't have that problem sometimes. I've tried to correct and then had it slip right back where it was:( Good subject matter and worth the read!

Thanks for sharing your story. I liked your choice of words, such as; "yellowing parchment," and "Old Glory waving in the wind." Yes, we need God to bring healing to our country and prayer is the avenue. Keep writing.
