Wow! If we just quit there and "pondered," or stood in wonder at these truths alone, we could spend the rest of our lives seeking deeper truths of this world changing event. And at the most intimate level, life transforming truth.
It is recorded I believe, that as Mary watched the landscape of her sons life, she "kept, pondered and wondered," about its events in her heart.
The heart of this young teen had already believed and trusted in her heart all the angel told her. Her only question was, "how?" How profound is that? She believed but only curious about,"how?"
AS the angel explained that the Holy Spirit would come over her and she would be with child. Again, a profound profession of faith, "let it be done to me as you say."
I am challenged to ponder in my heart the faith and trust of this one so young.
It would sound absurd today to any of us who would have our woman child or someone elses daughter claim the same in our lives today.
Can you just hear the gossip and laughs, I hear ya, oh sure....
The faith of this precious soon to be mother, who accepted the will of God for her life causes me to pause and ponder these things in my own heart.
Haven't we accepted the same truth?
We believe what she trusted and beleived.
For unto us God came in this young lady as a precious babe in rag clothes.
When we ask, how can it be? The answer from His word is, the Holy Spirit will come into you. We are baptized then the promised Spirit of God comes upon us and we are born to Him, born again as new babes shedding the swadling clothes of the old flesh and life wrapped in its place with His Grace.
We then walk the landscape of our own lives with its mountains and valleys to become Jesus for our Heavenly Father and the world around us.
Let us find this seasons reasons by seeking Him in a more intimate place, "pondering these things in our hearts."
May we walk His will because of the incredible miracle of Jesus birth.
