Once upon a time deep in the forest there lye a little town they called Happy Ville. In Happy Ville there were little people, and these little people loved Christmas. They loved the gifts, the toys, the feast, and most of all being together on what they thought was the best holiday. Happy ville loved Christmas so much that they would have Christmas lights on all year long.

Then there was Mr. Boulevard, the mayor of happy ville. He was the Scrooge of the town, and Christmas made him sick. His wife had past away years ago and ever since Christmas seemed dead to him. Lola and Mark, his two children suffered greatly because of it, because the Boulevard’s house was the only place in happy ville without lights for Christmas.

This year was going to be different though, the Boulevard children had came up with an idea while their father was out at work. The plan was to decorate the inside and get small gifts and spread them all around the living room. They wanted to surprise their dad when he got home that evening, but that’s not happen.

When he walked through the door that night all the children heard was “bang” and “boom”. All the presents were scattered everywhere and the wrapping paper was torn. The mayor was not happy, but he was furious, who would bring this awful season into his home? He went to his office and started on his work ignoring how sad his children were. Mark went up the stairs and Lola sat on the couch thinking. All she could think was how could this have happened? She looked around at all the scattered presents and saw one in the corner untouched. Lola grabbed the present and went to her father’s office with a sad smile and said “happy Christmas daddy, we love you”. The mayor put the gift on the desk and told Lola to go to bed. She dolefully walked out of the office, looking back for one last glance at her busy daddy, and a tear fell from her cheek as she went to her room. That night before he left the office for bed, he picked up the box he had been avoiding all night he and picked it up. He opened the gift Lola had given him and stared at a picture of her mother, his wife. He sat back in his chair staring into her eyes, feeling the love she once shared and tears swarmed his eyes.

Every year after this they had a Celebration filled with love and many gifts. And now every house in happy ville was lit with Christmas lights.
