Santa’s reindeer are moving along steadily, confident that the big sack of presents they carry will be on delivered on time.
The flame of a candle moves from side to side, trying to create the illusion of wind as it dances to the music of the night and sings along with the melody of the stars.
Some spirals and shapes that has no meaning other than looking beautiful, full of colour and creativity.
Even a nativity scene is displayed high on a pole, every character in just the right place. The light flickers from Mary to Joseph and from the magi to the shepherds, causing more than one child to stop in wonder and ask their parents to tell them the story one more time.
Do any of us really understand what happened, could any person on this earth really bear witness to what happened that night? That night when every human suddenly had a hope of seeing God someday, of feeling Him as you walk here on the earth. I like to close my eyes and pretend I’m one of the poor shepherds with my sheep standing by the cradle, empty handed but full of awe. Or maybe one of the rich magi that had something to bring other than my heart and life and then I wonder… Are we overlooking something? Am I missing something?
I think so.
No, I know so!
The cradle! The Light of the World as a little baby!
It’s a miracle beyond description.
