Anxiously I walked into the living room that Christmas morning. Expecting the usual mound of gifts under the tree, my heart sank as I saw nothing but a white envelope with a red ribbon wrapped around it. “Where is everybody?” I thought. No laughter, no music playing, there was an eerie silence that I could not figure out.
Moving from room to room, I looked for my family, any indication that it was Christmas morning. Nothing. Puzzled, I went into the kitchen and put the kettle on for a cup of tea. I turned around and looked again at the letter under the tree. It seemed to be calling me out of the kitchen.
Mesmerized, I found myself walking toward it. I plugged the tree lights in thinking that would make things normal. Immediately, my eyes were fixed on the lights for a reason yet unknown to me. My gaze was interrupted by the whistle on the stove alerting me that my tea water was ready. Picking up the envelope, I headed toward the kitchen, dropping it on the table as I passed by.
Tea in hand, I decided to wait for everyone and open the envelope. “What lovely handwriting, I thought, but did not recognize it.” The red ribbon was “otherworldly.” The letter began, “My child.” I read on…
My gift to you this Christmas is to give you a picture of what I see when I look at you. You are My Christmas tree. You are plugged into Me, the Light of the world. I have wrapped Myself around you and trimmed you with the rainbow of My color. I have decorated you with My beauty. I have placed upon you the tinsel of My redemption for the color silver represents redemption. I have caused you to be beautiful. You are My planting, My tree. I desire to shine through you and cause the dark world to look and see Light and Hope. I AM your light and hope. I AM their light and hope.
No longer do you need to look in the mirror despising yourself. I have come this day to show you who you are in Me. Do not hide yourself, for you are My beauty to the world. Take your place among my daughters. Allow Me to bring light and beauty to those around you. Let Me trim you with Myself, My daughter, My Christmas tree.
I love you with an everlasting love,
Your Abba
With tears running down my face, I stirred. Grabbing my pillow, I wondered, “What manner of letter was that?” Then I reached to silence my alarm.

A few things didn't quite add up--she's drinking tea, but then she puts down the letter and appears to be in bed. Some minor details like that...
This has an ethereal quality that I enjoyed.
