TITLE: The Best Decoration Yet | Previous Challenge Entry

When they made it stand up tall.
They had no clue of what they’d done,
Or that this was His call.
They would rid the earth of this “evil” man,
But what had He done wrong?
And they didn’t know that in modern times,
This tree became a song.
It started many years before,
Soon after man arrived.
Created perfect in God’s eyes,
This way had not survived.
The freewill that God gave to him,
Was exercised that day.
But with judgment poor mankind had failed,
And a price he’d have to pay.
God’s love for man was very great,
But their sin was in His face.
Without forgiveness and redemption,
He would eliminate this race.
So He sent His Son to die for all,
Upon that Christmas tree.
He knew it was the only hope,
That mankind could be free.
So this old rugged cross made the difference,
It was the very first Christmas tree.
Even though there was death, it was a sign of life,
Becoming victory for both you and me.
So when Christmas comes and we have a tree,
Maybe first we should think about our debt.
Then through salvation from a risen Savior,
You can have “The Best Decoration Yet.”

This poem has a well-thought-out structure, and perhaps only needs a few revisions in meter to make it flow more evenly.
Very thought-provoking!
