The great masquerade ball

As John ascended he realized his life was over. Knowing you are dead is different than being scared of dying. It is not that strange. The freedom felt as john flew to a destination unknown could neither be described, nor felt, in our frail human form. John never felt as alive as he did right now. Soon the trip ended at a gate. As john walked to the gate he had heard so much about excitement began to build inside him. The man at the gate was old and young at the same time.
“Hello!” the man exclaimed.
John was so happy to hear the voice another person he almost didn’t answer. “Hello, where am I?” john asked.
The man smiled a grin that made john feel like he was looking at his grandfather. “you are at the gate truth.”
“The gate of truth… what’s that?”
“Some have also called it ‘The pearly gates’” the man stated.
“Wonderful!”
“You seem very excited” The old man said.
“Well yeah, I am in heaven.” John said with a quizzical look.
“Oh son, there is more to it than just showing up at the gate. Let’s get started, shall we?”
John was more than a little nervous.
“Let’s start with your name.”
“My name is John.”
The man looked at john and asked “are you sure that is your name?”
“Yes”
“You don’t look like john.”
Feeling like the man must not understand, john began to explain that on earth there are a lot of people named john and that they all look different.
“Oh yes I know that, the creator was very creative. I also know which john you are claiming to be. But you don’t look like him at all. In your life were you always true to who the Master created you to be?”
John thought about this for a long time then he spoke, “You can’t always do that. You see people will make fun of you or keep you down.”
“Oh, so you wore a mask.”
“Yes. You know ‘put your best foot forward’”
“I am sorry you are going to have to take off the mask. This is the gate of truth and therefore only truth can come through”
John felt his face and said “but I am not wearing one.”
The man turned serious and replied, “The mask is not on your face it is on your heart.”
“But how do I remove a mask from my heart?” john was starting to panic.
“That my son is the question isn’t it? You see only the master can do such a thing. You need to do these things while you are on the earth. When on earth you can pray and ask him to work on you but here you can not. Your opportunity has passed.”
John lost his ability to speak and stood looking at the man his mouth agape. After a few seconds john asked, “Are saying I can’t come in because I am wearing a mask that I can’t remove?”
“I am saying that your opportunity to have your mask removed is gone. And for that you will have to learn all over again who you really are. As far as getting in, the Master has sent a message for me to let you return to earth. He says you will have another opportunity to remove the masks, as well as a chance to live as who he created you to be. You must know him intimately or you will not get in the next time you are here. You see the words ‘I never knew you’ in Matthew 7:23 refer to the fact that he never knew you intimately. The same word was used in Matthew 1:25 to convey the most intimate type of relationship a human man and woman can have. You see john it is not about looking the part it is about being intimate with the God of all creation. That is how you enter.”
John felt himself begin to return to the planet and life he calls home vowing to himself never to wear a mask even in the great masquerade ball we call life.

WOW! This gave me goosebumps. There were some grammatical things, such as always type a name with capitals, john vs. John.
But the gist of the story, the message, wow, that's powerful. Really good stuff! ^_^

An interesting fantasy.

I'd encourage you to do some extra editing for things like punctuation and capitalization.

Awesome story!


True self - is what we fight for - as this is what the lying devil stole from us in the first place.

To be true means acceptance of who we are - no matter how we feel about it.

To be true means we will fall far short without covering it up - but clinging to Jesus for our salvation and our New Life.

To be true brings the Dragon spitting flames, revealing the ugly prostitute drinking our lifeblood and exposes the false prophet claiming following the god of this world is our best bet - such anti-Christ to hear and see within!

To be true will bring Jesus as Saviour in The End - for death cannot take what is true - even us in our sinful self.
