Would you make a long distant call if you needed a dozen eggs for an omelet? I doubt it. How about a ride to the store? Would you call your sister in California if you were a resident of Sydney, Australia? If you heard a noise in your garage in the middle of a stormy night would you call on the one making the noise? Probably not.
Sometimes we forget to call on the One who has the answers to our entire “dial" Emma's. Our Father won’t put you on hold; He won’t hang up on you; He will stay on the line with you and He will dispatch all the help that you need.
David knew who and when to call. In Psalm 86 verses 6 and 7 he says, “Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer and supplications. In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.” KJV
Calling on Him is not a toll call. He has paid the price for you. He is your ever-present help in time of need. So put down the telephone, lift up your voice and call out to the One who will always answer. Don’t think that you have to wait until you are in trouble to call upon Him; He always likes to hear from His children day or night, weekends, and holidays too!
