A bright day and I look good
All I need is a family to care for
The people who live here
Have no heart for me
They have set their sights
to the horizon
looking for their dreams………………
10th March 1987 -- Ever hopeful
I feel so lonely
So many families
But none can see my heart
I hope today is better
Oh another couple coming
Hmm …. Not bad
They seem like nice people
Yes they like me
Oh they are leaving
Don’t go ………………….come back
sigh
12th March 1987 -- Another day
I am so tired
Of people coming
And going
I need someone to love me
Oh goody that couple again
They must really like me
Yes…
They have put in an offer
Yippee
It has been accepted
I can’t wait until they move in
12th April 1987 -- Waiting
Where are they………….
I still have the dreamers
Where is my family?
Oh the dreamers
Have started to sort
And slowly moving things out
It won’t be long now…..
12th May 1987 -- Still waiting
Well the dreamers have left
I feel so empty
No furniture
No noise … except the birds
Chattering outside
Small solace
For one…. as beautiful as me….
13th May 1987 -- Moving in day
Yawn…. Another day
What’s this?
A truck has just pulled in….
Strangers….
Where are my couple?……
Oh there they are
Goody … furniture, clothes and
Heaps and heaps of boxes…
So many things and
So good to be loved….
My family
The couple have….
A girl and boy
All my rooms are
Full of love and noise…
And I can look forward to
Many years of growing
With the family…..
19th June 1987 / 20th march -- Birthdays
Children running round
Whistles fill the air
Streamers, balloons
Adorn my walls
People playing games
Munchies and a birthday cake
looks nice … maybe they will drop a piece
so I can taste…oh yes ….yum.
25th December 1990 -- Christmas
A cool day
Wafting aromas
Escape the kitchen
Filling the house
Children around the tree
Sounds of glee as
The boy discovers a bike
And the girl a pram
Such a blissful scene
One I will treasure…..
10th September 1993 -- Excavation
A machine pulled up today
A mean looking thing
I hope that are not thinking of altering me
I am beautiful as I am…
Oh phew
They are digging a ditch in the yard
I still have no idea what it is…..
Oh workmen fixing up the hole
They are putting tiles
Down around the outside
Oh it is a pool….
And it is being filled with water
25th September 1993 -- Christening
The pool is glistening in the sun
The girl and boy
Have jumped in
Oh what a big splash
The wave hit the wall
It felt so refreshing in the spring sun
12th –20th January 2008 -- Renovations
Oh it is hot outside
The couple have the air con on
They are busy little beavers
Going from room to room
Painting my walls
And filling in holes in walls and ceilings
I look new again
The colors change with the changing light
Makes me feel so special
But my rooms are quiet now
Just the couple
I wonder what they are up to….
10th April 2008 -- Gardening
They came home with all these plants for the outside
The garden looks so colorful
With all the new plants
The woman has just come inside
To get two cool drinks
Oh she has stopped to answer the phone
Oh no….
It is an estate agent
The woman says there are still
A few bits and pieces to do around the home
Then they can put it on the market
10th September 2008 -- For Sale
The estate agent
Hammered in the sign out the front
I hate it when strangers come through the door
Messing up my clean floor…
The couple have become dreamers
What I need is a family
To appreciate all my unique features
Who will buy this wonderful family home
No dreamers or single people here
A couple with children needed……
