Topic: Cousin(s) (05/22/08)
It’s state fair time in Minnesota, Caitlyn and Caela who are teenage cousins were excited about going to the fair.

Caela loves horses and likes to go to the FFA (Future Farmers of America) barn. She loves to see the horses.

Caitlyn is an artist she likes to go to the Creative Arts Building to see the different art exhibits and who the winners were.

They both like going to the Dairy Building to see the sculpture made of butter that is suppose to be the head of the princess Kay Of The Milky Way.

Being Teenager’s they both like to go to the midway and ride on there favorite rides. Caela liked the Tilt a Whirl, whereas Caitlyn liked the Mini-Roller Coaster. They also like rides that were mellower like the Space Needle or the Sky Ride.

The neat thing about the Space Needle is they were able to see both downtowns. Minneapolis and Saint Paul looked tiny from so far away.


One of the longest lines at the far are the lines for the cheese curds. They are deep fried cheese with a batter. Both girls will be in those lines just like everyone else in the state of Minnesota.

When the girls get tired at the end of the day. The can go to the channel four studios and watch Don and Amelia broadcast the 10 o’clock news from there fish bowl studio.

The State Fair is the last hurrah before they had to go back to school the day after Labor Day and an end to a fun summer.

I love fairs. They are full of colors, sounds, smells,sights, and tastes. Try to use your senses in your writing.

Good choice to compare these two girls for the topic. You made appropriate selections for your comparisons and gave clear detail. There were some grammatical errors which detracted from the reading, such as "there' for 'their'. Good job with the topic. :)
