A dog, a cat, a fish or three
Why oh why I don’t understand
Are not animals all over the land?
What no pet well that won’t do
Who is going to chew my shoe?
A litter box, what is that?
Come on Mom please a cat
Clean the tank why not a bowl
Flush the fish down that hole
So no pets are in our house
Maybe I can find a mouse
Is this a prayer that God will hear?
Honor your parents listen dear
It’s their home, you’ll have one soon
Then you can whistle your own tune
Have some fish, a dog for you
Maybe a cat and hamster too
Gee they smell and make a mess
Also thought they’d cost much less
Wow what is it about this pet
The unconditional love we get
Like that of my Savior true
Glad He doesn’t bark and chew
