I dreamed about you last night Mother.
You was sitting in a huge meadow filled with flowers.
Your bare feet were dangling in that crystal river.
All around you, birds seemed to be singing angelic songs.
Never before do I remember that dress you had on being so colorful,
Nor ever your face looking so youthful and bright.
From afar, you saw me coming down that long winding path.
Your face lit up like the sun when you first caught sight of me.
No words could describe that awesome smile on your face.
It was the same smile I had seen so many times before.
At once, your arms flung open wide inviting me to come to you.
I wanted to run into your arms and feel you cuddle me like a child once again.
Only when I tried to move, my feet were frozen.
When I tried to holler at you, no words would come out.
What I would have given just to tell you that I love you once again,
Or to say how much I've missed you and all the talks we once had.
If only I could tell you how sorry I was for being disobedient to you.
Most of all, for the times I hurt you and brought you shame.

My heart seemed to be shattered into a million pieces.
Just the thought of being so close to you, but unable to reach you.
It seemed as though I couldn't catch my breath because I was crying so hard.
For some reason my whole body seemed to be shaking.
Little did I know that it was my husband trying to wake me up.
He wanted to know why I was crying and thrashing all over the bed.
To find out that I was really dreaming left me very disappointed.
Sobbing even more now, I realized I would never see you again.
I didn't want to leave you, but I had no choice.
Today I take comfort in knowing that it won't be long until we meet again.
The next time I come to see you Mother, it won't be in a dream.
Just keep watching for me, for the time is near at hand.
Soon I will be seated beside you in that beautiful meadow,
And I too will dangle my feet in that crystal river.
