This is what the doctors told me
Your mom has cancer in her throat
It’ in stage four, I now must note
Doctors had said mom would not last
From here on out things would go fast
We can not do too much for her
That’s when my mind started to blur
I sat there and stared out in space
With no expression on my face
My brain’s in shock I can not think
Those words my brain just would not drink
Wanda spoke up we can’t tell mom
Now is the time to keep her calm
I told Wanda I would not lie
The truth to mom we must supply
All twelve of us went in her room
And on our face, she saw the gloom
Mom quickly put us all at ease
She showed again her expertise
Mom said she knew right from the start
She knew the truth down in her heart
Said, God is with us - understand
Against this cancer we will stand
Mom stayed with us another year
And when she left we saw so clear
Upon a cloud my mom did stand
She waved good-bye with her right hand
We all saw this and had to smile
For God took Mother home in style
Fourteen years has now come and gone
Still in my mind that visions strong
