TITLE AUNT MAGGI COMES HOME
The door bell rang I jumped up to reach the door knob before my Mom. Aunt Maggi was coming home for her wedding. There was a lot of excitement in the air and I wanted to be the first to greet her. The door opened and a bright smiling face bent over to give me a tight bear hug. She greeted my parents and we all sat down to talk about the wedding arrangements over lunch. Deep down inside I wanted her to open the luggage and give me my surprise. Aunt always came with a gift for me and I loved the suspense. The adults talked for hours and hours and I was getting impatient.
“When will Aunt go upstairs to open her boxes?” was my unannounced question. After all 5th graders are not very patient. My teachers had reminded me on many occasions that I need to wait for my turn.
I walked away to play a computer game. Finally I got the surprise packages I was thrilled. The outfit was perfect for the wedding. The story books with a CD player were a great token of her love for me. My parents encouraged and motivated me to aspire for the best and my Aunt always stood behind them to help me make right choices. Often I did make the grades but sometimes I slipped, aunt Maggi always promised me more surprises if I straightened up. In many ways Aunt was like my Mom but she never scolded me or sent me upstairs to clean my room because when she was around I did my chores quickly to spend time with her.
My Aunt often told me stories about her childhood when Grandpa was alive. There were trips to the countryside, Sunday school and church, vacation bible school, and a lot of other things. She explained how she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and the need to do it, but I was not ready to make the commitment yet, perhaps later. My Mom being older had to do more chores and be lady like. The two sisters were close friends and often played tricks on my grandparents. They even took cookies out of the cookie jar when Grandma was out and never told on each other. I wish I had a brother to hang around with and have fun together.
Prince charming came on the scene and everything changed. Now my aunt had time only to please him. Jealousy filled my heart and I was sad in a way but consoled myself that soon he would be my uncle and love me too. Every thing went as scheduled and aunt Maggi looked beautiful as a bride. They returned from the cruise and believe me it was wonderful to have them at home. Aunts and Uncles can bring a lot of joy and love to each one of us.

You seemed to be telling several different stories here - this might have felt a bit more focused if you just focused on one and fleshed it out. Just my thoughts, though.
Thanks so much for sharing - I really felt like I got to know Aunt Maggi.
