Previous Challenge Entry (Level 1 – Beginner)
Topic: Illustrate the meaning of "Make Hay While the Sun Shines" (without using the actual phrase or literal example). (03/06/08)
The sun rises every morning, which gives us a chance to start a new day. It is stated in the Bible "Sorrow comes at night but joy comes in the morning." We as human beings on God's earth are prone to make mistakes. We go through the day and throughout that day; we gain a few bumps and bruises. Some examples of the bumps and bruises may be,we lose our jobs, a failed marriage or relationships. We go home and go to bed feeling bad. The good news is daybreak begins usually around 7:00 pm. That is God renewing our strength allowing us another day to correct the wrongs that is in our lives. We have to decide if we are going to just lay there or we are going to put it in gear and keep fighting to reach the goals that God has set forth for us. It is important to remember no matter what we go through the sun will shine again. So we should always put our best foot forward, no matter what the problem is. That is my meaning of "Make Hay While the Sun Shines."

So true! Might just be me, but it's easier to read shorter paragraphs. A nice touch is to add a personal anecdote /specific story to your devotionals as well. (You have plenty of word count left.) Nice devo!

AMEN! I learned this lesson after a serious illness. I've learned to take each day as a gift from the Lord.

A very good message for all of us.

Your mention of the topic in your story will probably hurt your chances of placing in the challenge. If you have not already done so, I highly recommend that you participate in the message boards. It will greatly help you understand the rules of the challenge, and it's a whole lot of fun talking to everyone there. :)

You have some good thoughts here, and I wish you would have expanded on them. Don't be afraid to use all 750 words to flesh out your thoughts and ideas.
