Birthday

When I think of birthdays, I do not Think of mine alone,
I think of the one we celebrate,
One Night,
In a manger where a dim light shone.
I wonder what I would do, if I had
Been there that night,
And beheld your face, whom I love
Today with all my might.
I know I would have brought, a soft blanket
For you, for warmth, through the
Nights Stay,
Because I know that it must have
Been,most uncomfortable laying on
That pile Of Hay.
I would have stayed by your bed,
Then Sang a sweet song of love,
I would share the beauty of the
Stars That night, that shown so brightly above.
I would have told you just how
Much, Your birthday would mean to
Me,
But I think you already knew, and
That is why you chose to be born,
To set us free.
I would thank You, for coming to
Earth that day,
Then softly sing..Happy Birthday.

Roselee, this is so sweet. I have never really thought about being at the scene myself and what I would have brought. I loved that picture of bringing a soft, warm blanket, and singing a sweet song. It was really precious.

Anyway, I actually just popped in very quickly to let you know that you left your name on your entry when you submitted it. Because the Challenge is anonymous, you need to make sure you check that you've removed any note about your name from the actual submission box. I do catch it quite often and remove it before the judges see the entries, but sometimes I don't. So if you could just do a double check in the future, that would be great.

Also, it's a really good idea to give your entry a title other than the actual topic. As you can see, I had to add a little (ii) next to it, to differentiate it from other entries titled "Birthday." I think there were about three that week (or thereabouts). Because the entries are anonymous, it just saves any confusion for the judges if the entries have fairly distinct titles.
