The chamber was ill lit with a dull red light, while acrid smoke from the blue flame of the sulfur burning on the altar filled the room. Satan had called his Council of Darkness together to plan their 'coup d'etat'.
"Thank you, one and all, for coming," he announced from his seat of authority,
"We will gain a great victory for the Kingdom of Darkness if we get this right today."
"Yes! This Jesus has made our task simple by upsetting both the religious and the political leaders." Beelzebub chortled " They think He works for me, how ridiculous."
"And His association with the prostitutes and the publicans has given Him a very bad reputation. The Sanhedrin think He is one of them, because He eats and drinks with them." Jezebel sneered.
"It has been easy to mar His reputation through His refusal to follow their religious traditions, and His lack of strict adherence to the Law of Moses, Their leaders have readily condemned Him for not keeping the Sabbath and claiming authority superior to theirs, for they sit in Moses seat." said Gainsayer.
"The way young Judas has handled their finances for his own ends has made
him greedy and caused suspicion. His greed will make him our ally, just like Balaam." announced Balak.
From the chief seat at the table, Satan announced, "I suggest that we get Judas to betray Jesus - for a price - to the Chief Priest and the Elders, who are jealous of His popularity."
"But they are not able to put anyone to death. Only the Romans have that
authority." interjected Beelzebub.
"Pilate is a weak kneed character and afraid to stand against the crowd, he will do what they want," said Jezebel
"Yes; and those who gather at the Judgment Seat are a bloodthirsty and unruly lot who will follow the lead of the crowd, and so will Pilate. Don't let Jesus be judged among the ordinary people - they love Him - but at the Judgment Seat the cry of 'Crucify him! Crucify him!' will gather momentum." counseled Gainsayer.
The Breeze wafted another cloud of acrid sulfur smoke toward the table and the demons drew deep breaths of satisfaction.
"The religious leaders have already agreed to ask Pilate to have Jesus crucified. All we have to do is to get him into their hands tonight." Satan reminded them, "What an appropriate night for our 'coup d'etat' – The Passover of the Jews."
"I'll send a young demon to enter Judas tonight and the deed will be done." offered Balak.
"Do it!" Satan ordered.
"We can count on Herod and the Jewish political leaders to co-operate even if they don't openly declare their opposition to Jesus." Jezebel assured them.
The next day:
"He's on the cross – Our coup is complete – He has just cried, 'It is finished' and died." The council declared, rubbing their hands with glee. "What a victory!"
Three days later, the council met again
"Oh no!" Beelzebub wailed, "We have played into the hands of God and fulfilled His plan. Our destiny is completely sealed through our own action."
" God can now forgive the people their sin and offer them new life through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus." Jezebel moaned.
"Jesus has made an open show of our Council of Darkness - spoiling
Principalities and Powers and Spiritual Wickedness in High Places - and we helped Him." Satan was bitter.
"We can truly say, what a hideous result!" Said Balak "It smells of Balaam all over again."
"The Christians are declaring, 'Jesus came to His own people and His own
people would not receive Him, but anyone who does receive Him, will be given the right and privilege to become a child of God, just through believing on His name.'" Said Gainsayer
"They claim that anyone who has the Son has life. To think we made it all
possible through His death on the cross." Satan spat these words vehemently, “We’ll have to try and stop them.”

Here's a thought--you have Christians immediately after the Resurrection--but were they called "Christians" at that point? I could be wrong...
I like your title, and your originality.
Right on topic, and with a wonderful ending.
Jan has a great eye for detail, and is correct that they were not called Christians for many years after the resurrection.
