I went to an all girls boarding school. Those years were the greatest ever. I recall a particular week in my junior year, where we had a drama group come entertain us.
It was customary in the school to have different forms of entertainment over the
weekend.
The group that came that week, was a Christian youth group from a local church near
the school.
Myself and a friend went to see the play. It was great and we had a lot of fun.
At the end of the drama piece, a young man came up the stage and started to minister
to the crowd. He gave an alter call for those who wanted to give their lives to Christ ,
and to pray for those who needed to be prayed for.
People came out for the alter call, and even more people came out to be prayed for.
When it was time for the healing prayer, I remember standing there, bewildered .I could
not digest what was going on, amazed at what I was seeing.
Students I knew with one illness or another were being healed. As the healing was taking
Place (by this time I had stopped praying, like most of the crowd and was looking) people
started to scream, to cry, and to call on God for more healing.
I could not hold back my tears anymore, it was my first time of seeing the work of God in
any form. I was born into a Christian family, and had lived a rather regular life until that point. This kind of fire-filled youths were just too incredible to behold.
Suddenly the young preacher spoke to the crowd.
“The spirit of the Lord is leading me to say this to you, please only those whose faith is
strong can please remain in this hall. I sense a lot of worldly spirits moving around. Spirits that have left some people, and are looking for others to enter. Please only those
who feel that their faith is strong enough should remain in the hall”.
How high was my faith? I pondered.
My confession. Not high enough.
I knew I had to leave the hall. I started for the great doors, Pandemonium. The doors were
Jammed, students everywhere .There was an in and out movement everywhere.
I turned to my friend, but she decided to stay behind.
“Is your faith strong?” I asked her, as I made my way out.
“I want to see ” she replied.
“come” I begged her.
“I want to see, and besides are you not a Christian ?”she asked.
“I am, but my faith is not as strong as is required sadly” was all I could say.
With that I was gone.
Back at the dorm, everyone was tense and wondering what was going on at the hall.
After about an hour, a few girls came into the dorm carrying someone.
Behold it was my friend, she was shaking like a leaf from her head to her toes.
“what happened?” I asked.
“ I don’t know” she was crying and screaming.
“take her back for healing” one girl yelled.
“They are gone” another answered “ The school authority had heard of the healings and
had asked them to go.”
“What is to become of her?” yet another girl asked.
“I should have left” was all she was saying over and over again.
My friend shook like a leave for all seven days of the coming week. It finally stopped after days of fasting and praying.
We never told anyone what had really happened, because it was just too unbelievable

Watch your spelling. "Alter" means to change. "Altar" is the word you wanted.
