Something with wonder..it gives you a lift.
Sent from the heart, exchanged with the hands,
Passed through the eyes by merely a glance.
Sometimes a word, or simply a touch,
Nor does it matter how big or how much.
Wonder's still wonder, no matter the size;
It casts away shadows and lights up the eyes,
Given in sweetness, all wrapped up and tied,
Always it carries rich treasure inside!
Something that lasts, though the gift itself fade,
Something not bought, nor can it be made.
Born out of Goodness and purely from Love,
Wonder arriving in flight from above;
Such was the Gift unto all men this day,
All filled with rich treasure and wrapped up on hay.
And oh, what a price! ...so painful indeed,
To come out of glory to do his good deed.
To give us his wonder, he poured out his heart,
Til all that was left was to die in the dark.
The Gift was now opened...the wrapping all gone,
So strangely had been given, so broken and torn.
We buried the Gift and thought he had lied,
No treasure we found, no wonder inside.
"Where is our treasure?". we cried for three days,
And feeling forsaken, we stood in a daze.
But only the Giver knew what He had sent,
Nor did He despair, though all He had spent.
His heart had been broken, but nevertheless,
He knew what He'd given would wonderfully bless.
And to our surprise, at last we could hear:
Oh lift up your eyes! And be of good cheer!
The wonder's not gone. The treasure's not hidden,
The Gift that I gave you has gloriously risen!
So, up on your feet! Run swiftly to see
All the Wonder and Treasure I've given to thee!

Pleasant cadence.
I like the beautiful choice of words.
