"Oh baby! This was just our second Sunday in that class. Give it some time." Dylan pulled Rachel into his arms. She buried her face into his chest, worried her tears were going to soak his shirt.
"Give it time? They are all related. Or they grew up together. What is the point of Sunday School anyway?"
"To learn about Jesus." Dylan rocked her back and forth. He hated times like this. He was supposed to be the spiritual leader, the one with all the answers. After months of searching, they finally found a church. Now it was time to find the right Sunday School class. *How would they fit in?*
"Have you noticed it's the same all over? The classes are supposed to be small groups broken up by ages or how long you've been married. But none of them are like they are supposed to be. How can you be married for ten years and in the 'Young Marrieds I' class?" She pulled away from his embrace to grab some tissues. Her tears seemed to lighten up but her frustration did not.
He followed her, grabbing her hand and leading her to the couch. "People get comfortable. They get comfortable with the teacher - with each other. They don't want to move around to a different class just because of some 'rule'."
"Don't they know how that makes visitors feel? Do they even care?"
"I'm sure they care, Rachel. They just got a little carried away talking about how great the high school football team played Friday night." He reached up and moved a strand of hair out of her eyes. He loved looking in her deep blue eyes even when she was upset.
"That's just it. Our kids will never be in the same schools. They'll never play the same sports. We don't even live in the same neighborhoods. What can we possibly have in common?" Thoughts raced across her mind at 90 miles an hour. Thoughts of all the things they'd never have in common.
"We have Jesus in common. That should be enough." He hugged her tight - hoping what he said was the truth. *Jesus should be enough, shouldn't He?*
They went about their day-to-day lives, not giving Sunday School much thought. Hopefully next Sunday be better.

I would have liked a little more of a conclusion, but that's just me. I like the happy ending, but I know it's not always that way.
Great job!
