Topic: Calm (emotionally) (09/13/07)
The peacefulness of a newborn babe after feeding from its Mothers breast,
Being nurtured, fondled and caressed,
Laid down on a soft warm bed,
Without any worries, without any dread,
Is the peacefulness I now feel surrendering to You.

The waves of the sea cradled in the ocean’s arms,
The bay safe from the tempest’s storms,
The quiet of the ocean’s floor,
All a sense of tranquillity my heart adores.
As I surrender to You.

I could not breathe in my suffocating mask
I could not see in the darkness of my despair
I only existed to do routine tasks,
On a treadmill going nowhere.

The adjournment of my past life
And the entrance of a new adventure
The laying down of all my strife
And all of my conjecture
Has made me realize that

You are my tranquilizer,
My meditation of You slows my mind from its race
You are my equalizer
Your mediation has caused me to yield toYour embrace.

And now I can take deep breaths
Inhaling the serenity of Your presence
And I can see the hues of all the colors around me
I can do all You ask with your grace that astounds me

With calm assurance I spend my days
And with untroubled sleep I spend my nights
Resting in all You are.

The imagery in the first two stanzas is quite nice, as is the title. The whole mood is tranquil, serene.
