Bold Prayer to a Loving Father


What have you asked God for lately, in the “name of Jesus?” Could it have been helping you make ends meet, a medical problem, or maybe a special prayer for a loved one. Was your prayer bold in front of the Lord or did you pray half heartedly, with your mind thinking about your next task? The Bible tells us in John 3:21 NIV: “Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from Him anything we ask, because we obey His commands and do what pleases Him.”

In prayer we can approach, God with bold confidence that He will meet wants as small as our daily needs or as vast as our salvation. As we think and pray to God about our prayers, we can ask the Father to intervene in His supernatural way. We can come with bold confidence that God will hear our prayers and bless us in ways that are unimaginable.

With our loving God, we can go to His throne as loving children and not as trembling servants that are facing a tyrant king. We can face our Heavenly Father with a heart of a child knowing our Father is ready to bless us in His way. This is what John is speaking of here, having boldness in prayer.

Reading the New Testament you can find that early Christians were quite bold. You cannot deny the fact that their boldness was natural, it was supernatural. John, a pillar of the church in Jerusalem, stood out among men of his day for being bold for his Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us about how he was beaten and commanded not to mention the name of Jesus Christ anymore. He went back to the church of Jerusalem and they prayed, as a church, that God would give them boldness when they spoke of the Word of God.

Christians today are still being prosecuted, not only in foreign lands, but here in the United States as well. Everyday Christians in America face obstacles and discriminations that are so restrained they often go unnoticed. Model your life after John; be bold in prayer and faith. In the name of Jesus Christ stand tall; accept the blessing of being one of God’s children with a joyful heart. Walk in faith and live in the joy of knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. How blessed we truly are!

Valuable words of exhortation!

Perhaps--move it a bit out of the general and into the specific by stating precisely what bold prayers you recommend?

You've written on some excellent examples of boldness found in the Bible.

This sentence is so comforting.
