TITLE: Sinking and Desperate | Previous Challenge Entry

Sandy
And
Derrick rode their bikes to the sand quarry. The sun was hot and the air heavy and stifling.
Sand
And
Dirt piled high around the pond of water was a preteen calling card, even though it was forbidden by their parents.
Stupidity
And
Defiance tempted them till the call was one they could not resist. Climbing to the top of the tallest sand pile, they could see the water rippling with a magnetic force, pulling them down.
Stephen
And
David saw the Johnson twins creeping through the yard again. David picked up the phone and called 911. “Yes I’d like to report some children trespassing at the stone quarry. Yes sir we will be prosecuting them.” Laying the phone down David sighed, sad that two kids from his church had so little regard for the laws of the world. Obedience to God was not just a Sunday mandate.
Sad
And
Disappointed he and David left their work load, in the office, to head to the water, hoping a rescuing hand would not be needed.
Sinking
And
Desperate, Derrick tried to swim back to the sand bar his sister was standing on, but something had a hold of his knees and he couldn’t kick free.
Stephen
And
David saw only Sandy standing in the water at the base of the hill. David quickly scanned the water seeing Derrick in the middle of the quarry struggling to stay a float.
Stupidity
And
Defiance now lost in the panic of watching her twin struggle, Sandy pleaded for Stephen and David to help. David attached the rope to his belt buckle and Stephen prepared to pull both to safety.
Stained
And
Dirty the police officers explained to Derricks and Sandy’s parents that the twins had been warned before. Stephen and David were members of their church and had agreed to not prosecute if the twins spent six hours a week working at the quarry for the next month.
Sad
And
Disappointed the parents agreed to the terms. Closing the door behind the police officers their parents sat them down for a long talk. Christianity and obedience is in every aspect of your life they said “From the rising of the morning sun, till bed time when the day is done. A Christian’s job is to glorify the Son.”
Slowly
And
Deliberately their father took their bikes apart. Till summer ends and school begins.
Sandy
And
Derrick spent the summer with Stephen and David learning all about stone quarries, and about being a Christian all the time. From the rising of the sun until your day is done.

It might have been even more effective if each S-A-D had been different words.
This had a nice flow to it, almost poetic.
