Annie was a dreamer in the biggest sense of the word. She would daydream a lot.
Most of her daydreaming was about fishing and catching the biggest fish ever caught by anyone. Annie loved to fish. It was her favorite thing to do.
Annie was in the third grade and one day while in class she was daydreaming when she was suppose to be reading silently. Her mind began to wander, before long she was daydreaming about being on the river bank, fishing. Annie began to yawn; she laid her head on her book and drifted off to sleep. She began to dream about hooking that biggest fish ever caught by anyone.
What a fight that fish gave Annie. She pulled and tugged, she sat down, she stood up, and she reeled her line in with all her might. Her pole was bent to the point of snapping. Finally, she managed to get the fish to shore. He was huge, the biggest fish she had ever laid eyes on. She stood with her pole and the huge fish hanging on the line with its tail lying on the ground. It was all Annie could do to hold onto the pole. A big smile crossed her face. She did it! She caught the biggest fish ever caught by anyone.
Annie was awakened by snickering and laughing all around her. There she was in her classroom. She was standing on her desk, holding an imaginary fishing pole and the imaginary biggest fish ever caught.
The other students were pointing and laughing at her. She looked around the room and her eyes fell on the teacher who was standing with a shocked and bewildered look on her face. Annie slowly stepped down from the desk with her face as red as the ripest tomato. She was truly embarrassed, but she couldn’t help feeling a smidgen bit proud of catching the biggest fish ever caught even if it was in her dreams. To Annie it was worth being
embarrassed.
