Watch over the children as they run and play.
Be with them and guide them at home and at school;
Let each of them know that you think they are cool!
Please help them to do what they know to be right;
And keep them in peace as they sleep through the night.
Though many young children may not know your name;
Please help them to see that you love them the same.
When trouble is brewing and causing much fear;
Lord, help them to know that you’ll always be near.
And when it comes time to choose whether to fight;
Remind them their never quite out of your sight.
While it may be tempting to choose their own side;
God, help them to always seek you as their guide.
When young ones are living in times that seem tough;
Help all your dear children to know prayer is enough.
And lastly I pray that from heaven above;
You shower your children with your perfect love.
