For I am desperate impoverished and frail
Tempt my heart with fragrant promises
Cause your infallible truth to prevail.
Your great mercy takes me to this place
Desert land as parched and withered as my soul
Uninhabited places to nurture my very being
Longing for your peace to console.
The dreadful sting of deception
Hanging heavy on my flesh
That piercing pain of disappointment
Aching from within to start afresh.
My serenity has vanished
What has become of my elation
Who became greater in my eyes than you Lord
Coloring my life in shades of anguished desperation.
You are declaring your word to me
Consoling unbearable affliction
Nourishing my fragile substance
Annulling my previous conviction.
I hear angelic voices flowing over me
Lyrics that sustain my very soul
Bringing forth a beautiful love song
Rhythms of glory to extol.
Longing for your refreshing
Quenching a thirst imprisoned within
Passions are rising returning from abyss
Restoration in sight let healing begin.
“Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.” Hosea 2:14 (KJV)
