In the mists above the shadows
Peak the sun’s silent beams
In the valleys in the meadows
Shining silently on steady streams
Above the tips of shedding tree tops
Waits the morning sun for the moon’s departure
Signaling the night is done
Shining through the darken clouds that day is on the way
Along the silent road it rises
People still in slumbers coils
See not its steady climb replacing the darken skies
Gradual ever silent it maintains its steady pace
To the east I see the absence of the dark
Making its way to the trees above me
Into the ground the shadows now seep
Far in the corner of the park the dark takes its last stand
Out amongst the rippling waters
Wrinkles the sun on the waves
I see the sun sparkling and winking at its reflection
Turning the night shadows into a bright enjoyable day
By the water I rest the lonely early morning riser
Watching the sunbeam’s silent climb
As the sun tests its own perfection
Nodding to me I see his job well done
By the midmorning in all its wonder
Stands the sun in all its glory
Blazing the message to any in doubt
Clear precise winking blinking distributing light
Striking out the shadows that try to rest beneath the trees
Towering high above me they stand silently
Watching the sun replace the shadows at my feet
Keeping the night and light at peace
Along the quiet road I roam
Sometimes in the shadows sometimes in the sun
Beaming bright the sun holds the key
To the forest silent glory keeping peace among the trees

In the shadows hidden are the seeking eyes of small hosts
Watching as I walk to seek their small wonders of peace
The sun smiles down majestically knowing it has had a part
A part of the small joy that I will treasure in my memories
wrapped in my heart
The noon time begins with food and drink
The warm heat now makes the shadows my retreat
In the distance can be heard the tinkling laughter
From small children finding new treasures in the autumn’s heat
In the distance can be heard the crunching of fallen leaves
The silence is a pleasure for strolling adults when normal noise
Is absent and new sounds abound, surround and bring peace
In the silence of the woods life strolls at a slower pace
Out upon the water blazes silent reflections of power
Out in the ripples made by the boats oars silent are the sunbeams
That can be quickly parted and swiftly rejoined as the oars depart
Along the fall journey I observe my continuing search of peace
In the evening the sun in all the colors of power and strength
Purples majesty shoving aside the deep blue mirrored reflection at its side
As I the solitary seeker returns to start the evening preparations
Gathering wood to light the night, food for the hungry returning from play
Approaching the lodging I the seeker looks to see
The last rays touch the edge of a restful day
Leaving it reaches the roof top for one final brush
Leaving unwillingly it is soon replaced but in one last display
Leaves all the colors of the day spread across the sky
Out upon the waters the last colors drift from the reflection high
A silent reminder that in the morning he will return to replay
The melody to keep me happy all winter long
The rays occasionally sneak into the winter as a reminder of past beauty
Once seen in the autumn’s parks quiet peace.
