Occasionally, I will make a trip away from home to my favorite place to walk: the mountains! I find that I feel closer to the Lord while on the mountains than I do while at “sea level”. So combining the two gives me a double blessing.
Recently I made such a trip, and I was reminded of a great truth from the Bible. The day was beautiful--sunshine, very mild tempiture, and no humidity to speak of. In addition, I made this trip on a weekday, with most of the state either in school or at work, affording me to enjoy the mountain by myself.
By myself: no phones or friends; no TV nor DVD. In fact, the only sounds I heard from the time I left my car until I returned three hours later was a couple of airplanes in the sky, and the motor of my camera as I turned it on and off. And it was shortly after the first hour when this verse came to mind:
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
As I meditated on that wonderful truth while on the mountain (and on the way home), my heart just soaked in as much stillness as I could stand in order to know anew and afresh, that He is God.

This seemed to end a bit abruptly. I would add some more details and expand on this a bit.
I also love the mountains. It made me miss them a bit. Missouri doesn't have any "real" mountains.
A few minor errors in grammar and punctuation, easily edited.
Expand your writing--it's very pleasant to read.
