The day you saved me from ending it with a knife.
The words you said were ones to remember,
That cold, dark stormy December.
I laid there crying out,
with nothing in my mind but doubt.
No hope for me,
ending it was how it had to be.
No one could change my mind,
life seemed so unkind.
I came so close with the knife to my wrist,
but I heard you words and felt a slight mist.
I remember your words even though they were faint,
I even though I’m still not a saint.
You seemed to care,
and said you made life not to be fair.
I’m here to guide you
and walk you through everything you do.
You walked away
and I’m waiting for the day you get on your knees and begin to pray.
If my love is what you crave,
then let me do what I do and save.
I sit here on that same cold, dark stormy December
my life better than I remember.
It's been a year since you saved me
and I’m glad that I’m free.
I'm on my knees with this simple prayer:
lord you saved me last December
from a mistake I will always remember.
it's something I don't regret
but try so hard to forget.
the joy I never had
now replace's the pain I once felt so bad.
Thank you God for letting me be free
and allowing me to simply being happy with me.
