Jesus also had a special moment in time with loved ones, so special that one day He will again pledge His love for them (believers). When Jesus returns it will not be the same way He came the first time, (but then again you can’t renew your wedding vows when you are fifty and look and feel the same way you did twenty five years earlier during the original ceremony), but He will come back for love. Of course, when Christ returns He will not be tortured and crucified, He will come in all His glory and take reign of His Kingdom, overthrowing the same evil that required His crucifixion in the first place. How humbling to think that the Creator of the universe would care for us so much, that He would return to the very sin filled planet that rejected, tortured and crucified Him.
As for you and me, we are blessed to be called the bride of Christ, and we have a wedding feast to prepare for. None of us would get married without making any preparations, Christ is taking care of the big stuff, and it is our job to invite the guests. The more people we tell about our Lord Jesus, the more people will get to not only be invited, but be a part of the wedding of the millennium, the wedding that will be celebrated by even the angels for all time!
That is one anniversary to look forward to, an eternity full of opportunity to celebrate and again proclaim and profess our love for the Bride Groom. Hallelujah!
