How did you spend your week?
They laugh and roll their eyes at me,
It's so hard to believe I'd seek
To volunteer as a counselor
At a girls' camp in the sticks,
A Christian camp with lots of kids
Third grade through six.
We had great classes on coping
And choices that we make
How every time we choose again
Another path we take.
Every day we went to crafts
And it was such a treat.
We painted, glued and laughed a lot
And my JESUS necklace is neat!
Then we studied missions
At home and far away
Learning new ways to spread the Good News
To those we meet along the way.
Next, it was on to Bible study
To read all about GOD's plan.
In those stories of old that share with us
HIS great love for man.
Just before supper, and after a swim
To the chapel we were sent
To learn from one who lived in Jordan
That time was really well spent.
The clothes in Jordan were unique
No Nike or Izod in the place
Just a little oil lamp, and a school for JESUS
And Anna's smiling face.
Each night we'd have a service
GOD's Spirit would fill the place
Hearts were called and many answered
Receiving Amazing Grace.
The blessings poured down, along with the rain
Many memories will I hold dear.
I'm so thankful I answered when GOD made the call
To send me to camp this year!!
