it kind of makes me sad.
Some very nice person once told me
I could get a volunteer dad for free.
I think that sounds kind of funny,
but I really don’t have any money.
Maybe I should check it out,
then I wouldn’t have to pout.
It would be so fun to have a dad,
I would really try hard not to be bad.
He could probably wrestle with me
and maybe he would be big and burly.
I think I will ask that very nice person
if he can help me find someone.
Hey, mom, can I go over to Mike’s house?
I promise I’ll be as quiet as a mouse.
Knock, Knock, can I come in,
how have you all been?
Hi, Mike, can I talk to your dad?
I think he can help me not be so sad.
Remember when you once told me
I could get a volunteer dad for free?
I was wondering if you could
help me have a happier childhood.
You see I really would like that volunteer dad
because that would really make me glad.
How do I find him?
Could you please help me, Jim?
Jesus is the answer!
He can make my life all better?
How can he make me happy
all I want is a daddy.
So I ask Jesus to be my daddy,
and he will help me not be so gloomy.
I will have the biggest daddy around!
I can’t wait to tell everybody on the playground.
I have a daddy, He’s the best-est daddy ever,
He promises me he will never,
leave me, he volunteered to be my daddy
and he would even be your daddy.
You see my daddy died on the cross
to save all that were lost.
Do you want to ask him to be your volunteer dad?
Then you wouldn’t be so sad.
