Do
Extraordinary Things
Today my family is able to eat,
Venison was shot to provide us meat.
I’m holding tight to my missing child,
Volunteers found her wandering in the wild.
There are clothes, and shoes that I can wear,
Someone took the time to care.
Look at the new recreation field,
Someone fought to see its yield.
My new family took me in,
It doesn’t matter that we’re not kin.
Visit a prisoner and encourage him,
Brighten the light that once was dim.
A visit in my elderly years,
A smile, a card, brings joyful tears.
Special needs are at your school,
Won’t you help give children tools?
Look and see; a child in need.
Lend a hand. and plant a seed.
Rally for the good of all,
Show concern; break down the walls.
You will never give in vain you see,
When giving to help those in need.
We have all been blessed with gifts to use,
Volunteer, waste not; spread the news.
“Ordinary People Can Do Extraordinary Thingsâ€,
Which can give to others a set of wings.
Wings to spread and help themselves;
Then one day, they too, will share their wealth.
