Previous Challenge Entry (Level 1 – Beginner)
Topic: Parent (11/16/06)
We were all children at one point in our lives. We all have parents, without them we wouldn't be here. As a child to an adult we all look up to our parents.
When we were little we didn't realize how much we relied on our parents. But as you grow up you see all they did for you over the years, and all there still doing. The things they did without, so you, and I could have that one dress or toy you just had to have. The home cooked meals your mom made each night, the loads of laundry she washed, even right to the littlest things she did for you like help you do your hair. Even down to the hugs and I loves you’s that were said. The days your dad worked hard so he could put food on the table, and provide a roof over your head.

Life passes by so fast, and we take so much for granted.
Our time together is worth so much. Because once our parents are gone, we can’t feel them. Hear them. Hug them. Tell them you love them. Only the memory is there, and if you don’t make the memories what do you have left when there gone?
We owe so much to our parents, yet so many of us give nothing in return.

I've seen so many people grow up. Have there own family, and suddenly they have no time for there own parents, because there way too busy with there own life.
I've learned so much from my family by how we treat each other. My mom has always been there for her parents. I look up to her, and think someday when I have my own family I want to do the same for my parents as she's done for hers. As my grandparents always say "She will have no regrets." Yes life can be busy but we have to learn to make time for our family.

Love isn’t just words it’s the actions that show what the words mean.
Sometimes the littlest words, and the smallest act of love can mean the most.
If its sending a thank-you card to your parents, and telling them how much they mean to you, or making a special dinner for your parents. Whatever it’s I’m sure they will appreciate it. This Thanksgiving, and everyday after it I hope we can all improve on being grateful for all our parents have done for us.


My parents mean more to me then they will ever know. Nothing I could do, or say would fully show how much I love them. Thank-you mom, and dad for always being there for me in the bad times, and the good. I’ve seen how you both honor your parents. I hope that someday when I have a family of my own that I will honor you in the same way you both honor your parents. That you can say to me “You will have no regrets.” I pray I can be the parent you’ve been to me. I love you both so dearly. Thank God for parents like you. He knew what he was doing when he put us together as a family.
